When the tournament resumed earlier on the night with men’s quarterfinal matches, Humphreys defeated Arima Hawks’ five-time national champion, Reeza Burke 7-11, 11-5, 11-8, 11-1 while Dookram won by default from Derron Douglas, who is currently in Dominica Republic representing T&T at the Junior Pan American Table Tennis Championship, along with Javier King and Luc O’Young.

Veterans champion, David Mahabir set the tone for the night when he ousted last year’s winner Aaron Wilson of Carenage Blasters 12-10, 11-9, 11-4 and Dayanand Maharaj humbled Arun Roopnarine 11-6, 10-12, 7-11, 11-9, 11-7 in the two other last-eight matches.

In the semifinals, Humphreys stopped Mahabir 7-11, 12-10, 11-4, 11-8, 5-11, 11-5.
