Erin FC blanks Club Sando for early lead

Keyon Alexander and Israel Williams scored a goal each in the second-half to lead Erin FC to a 2-0 defeat of Club Sando for an early lead in the T&T Super League at the Erin Recreation Ground, Erin on Sunday night.

Alexander got the opener in the 49th minute and Williams doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute to secure all three points for Erin FC to lead the 14-team table on goal-difference from FC Santa Rosa and the University of T&T, which both recorded a 2-1 win on Saturday over Bethel United and RSSR FC respectively.

However, defending champions Guaya United failed to kick off its campaign with a win after being held scoreless by Petit Valley/Diego Martin United at St Anthony’s College Ground, Morne Coco Road, Westmoorings.

And in Sunday’s other match, T&T Prison Service and Police FC battled to a 1-1 draw with Anthony Parris and Jason Boodram the players on target.

The league will resume on Saturday, June 16 with followed by five more a day later to close out the second round.
