Man charged with wasting police time
A PH taxi driver, charged with wasteful employment of police, will appear before a Couva Magistrate today.
A statement from the Police Service said Martin Frederick, 39, of John Lane, D’Abadie, was charged by officers of the Couva Criminal Investigations Department after investigations into a robbery report made by him, was found to be false.
Frederick initially made a report to the Couva Police Station on Tuesday alleging that while plying his vehicle for hire on the said date, two men entered the car and announced a robbery.
He further alleged that one of the men pointed a firearm at his head, before relieving him of TT$700 and making their escape on foot.
Further inquiries into the alleged incident and CCTV footage resulted in Frederick being arrested and charged.
