Tuesday, March 20, 2018

Almost one year after a deadly drive-by shooting in which three people were killed at Le Platte Village, Maraval, another drive-by shooting occurred on Sunday night where four people were shot— one killed. The deceased was identified as Andre Douglas, 25, of Le Platte Village.

The wounded were named as: Jeremy Harewood, 20; Dominic Arburn, 25 and Wendy John, 40, all from the same village. According to a police report, at about 8.15 pm the group was liming at Phillip Trace when a black X-Trail SUV pulled up on them.

Occupants opened fire shooting all four. Police said they believe automatic weapons were used in the attack. Douglas was killed instantly while the other three, who were all shot multiple times, are said to be warded at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital. Police said they are all in critical condition. Police said they later found the X-Trail abandoned at Paramin. Crime Scene Investigators were expected to do follow up investigations yesterday.

In the March 30, 2017 incident three people — Collin “Circle Boy” Letren, 25; Kuanda “Bag Up” Critchlow, 24 and Joel “Joe Dog” Le Platte, 35— were killed and two others injured.

That incident occurred in a track off the Morne Coco Road when a blue B-14 vehicle drove up to them and its occupants opened fire. It is believed that a machine gun was used in that gun attack.

Police say that the two incidents were “a bit far-fetched” to be linked. The police are yet to determine a motive for Sunday night’s shooting.Maraval police are continuing investigations.
