Hey you customers, just go cap in hand

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Although I understand where Republic Bank is coming from with its no-hat policy, I don’t see what could be hidden under a hat that cannot be hidden elsewhere on the person.

With the rising crime in the country and the amount of guns in the hands of criminals—and who do not have their own can rent from the police or elsewhere—it is natural for banks and other businesses, for that matter, to take precautions.

However, banning the wearing of hats in the bank seems to me to be taking things too far. What will be next? No shoes? No pants with pockets? No belts? See how absurd it can get? Maybe one just needs to go cap in hand.
